Smithville permit applications

Applications can be emailed to development@smithvillemo.org or brought to City Hall; permits and invoices are sent by email or picked up at City Hall. The City publishes separate forms for:

  • Building permit for new houses, commercial buildings, additions, basement finishes and tenant finishes, with the project value (excluding the lot), finished and unfinished square footage, and the master licence numbers of the electrical, mechanical and plumbing contractors.
  • Incidental construction for fences, outbuildings, solar and stand-alone electrical, mechanical or plumbing work.
  • Deck, pool, demolition, grading, lawn sprinkler and sign permits.
  • Residential driveway approach and City sidewalk and right-of-way permits.
  • Short-term rental and backyard hen permits.

Every application must include a site plan showing the buildings and property lines with dimensions, and projects with walls or floors, including decks, must show how the structural parts will be built.
