What requires a building permit in Tarpon Springs?
The city publishes permit document requirements for driveways, electrical, fences, mechanical, plumbing, roofs, and windows, doors and garage doors. Since July 1, 2026, some work on single-family homes may be exempt under state law (HB 803), but the Building Official must approve the exemption before the work starts.
Beginning October 1, 2026, all new construction and additions on property in a designated flood zone also need a separate Floodplain Permit, which must be approved before the building permit can be processed.
