Get a free quote →E-Permitting, the Contractor Data Sheet and required forms
The village no longer uses a separate building permit application: the Contractor Data Sheet serves as the application. It records the certificate of occupancy requirements and the qualifier’s signature, and gives Palm Beach County Fire its contact data. Download the forms for your permit type from the village’s contractor pages, fill them in, then sign in to the E-Permitting portal and upload them.
Upload rules in ProjectDox: up to 100 files at once (zip larger sets), file names under 70 characters with no special characters such as : / ? * = or a period, fillable PDFs saved as flat PDFs, and no image files (convert BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF to PDF). A submitted application cannot be changed; a new application is needed. Corrections are answered in the Prescreen Corrections or Respond and Resubmit task.
- Notice of Commencement and Inspection Codes sheet for most permits.
- Landscaping Index and Pervious Area Form for additions, garages, carports, screen rooms and sheds.
- Accessory Structure Checklist and Minimum Anchoring Detail for sheds.

Mechanical, plumbing and electrical permits are charged at the same rates, but cost nothing extra when they are applied for and first reviewed with the building permit. Work approved inside a utility, drainage or canal easement carries a $100 recording fee. Credit card payments carry a 2.70% processor fee; cash and checks do not. New construction and remodels that add square footage pay village and Palm Beach County impact fees. Private providers reduce permit fees by 25%, or 50% when they handle all plan review and inspections, if requested with the first application.
Trade permits in Royal Palm Beach
The Building Department issues electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pool, roof and special-use permits through the same portal, each with its own required forms and inspection codes. Trade permits use the building fee table, but there is no separate charge when the trade work is applied for and first reviewed with the building permit. A/C, water heater and electrical service change-outs are among the jobs eligible for virtual inspections.
