Caddo County government does not issue building permits for land outside its cities and towns; the state building code commission lists the county as a non-issuing jurisdiction. Inside Anadarko, the City’s Code Enforcement Department (405-247-2483) issues building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits, and Hinton’s Town Code and Inspection Department (405-542-3253) does the same for Hinton. Rural septic systems go to the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.
Who handles permits in Caddo County?
The county itself has no building department. Its accredited floodplain administrator, listed by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board at 405-247-9525, covers development in mapped flood areas of the unincorporated county, and the county’s address on the state commission’s list is PO Box 1427, Anadarko, OK 73005 (405-247-3105). Caddo County has 13 incorporated places, and who issues permits differs from town to town.
