Yell County has two courthouses, in Danville and Dardanelle, and the county offices listed on its website are the elected officials, the road department under the County Judge, emergency management, sanitation and the extension and revenue offices; none of them issues building permits. Dardanelle is the one town in the county that publishes a permit program: its Code Enforcement Officer issues building and trade permits through an online portal. On unincorporated land, the county’s Office of Emergency Management handles 911 addressing, and septic systems are permitted through the Arkansas Department of Health.
