Pooler permit types and online submission

Pooler moved Building & Inspections forms and applications to an online submission portal beginning April 1, 2024. The City states that hard-copy submissions are still accepted, but digital copies may also be required, and some digital submissions still require hard-copy documents such as development plans, plats for recording and bonds.

Portal users must register an account. Pooler explains that accounts are issued to individuals and that project teams may add named contacts; firms with multiple users are encouraged to use a shared organizational email address to coordinate access.

Permit costs and fees in Pooler

Fees depend on the permit type. Pooler’s Building & Inspections and applications pages do not publish a building-fee table; ask Building & Inspections for the fee for your project. The City also publishes an Impact Fee FAQ.

Electrical, plumbing, mechanical and fire permits

Pooler publishes separate electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire prevention permit applications, plus an electrical release affidavit, subcontractor certification of work and emergency responder communications permit.

Trade contractors need a current Georgia licence.

Application documents and plan review

Pooler’s portal is the primary digital intake path, but the City warns that some records still require physical documents even when the application is submitted online. Development plans, plats for recording and bonds are examples the City gives.

The City also publishes an authorized permit agent form, homeowner builder affidavit, subcontractor certification of work and property owner authorization.
