Fort Pierce building permit cost

The Fort Pierce Building Department fee schedule took effect July 8, 2025. For new buildings and additions, the residential permit fee is the valuation times 0.005 and the commercial fee is the valuation times 0.0125, each with a $100.00 minimum. All other construction is charged at the valuation times 0.0125 (minimum $100.00), except flat-rate permits such as demolitions. Valuation is the total value of the work, including materials, labor, and electrical, gas, mechanical and plumbing systems.

When fees are due: plan review and routing fees are paid when the application is submitted; the permit fee is paid when the permit is issued. Work started before a permit is issued is charged double the fee.
